THE RETURN EXCHANGE WINS “INNOVATIVE SOFTWARE” AWARD FOR RETURN REWARDS TECHNOLOGY
AeA Orange County/Inland Empire Council Reveals the 2008 High-Tech Innovation Award Winners

IRVINE, Calif. (May 11, 2007) – The Return Exchange announced today it was recognized with the “Innovative Software” award for its Return Rewards technology at AeA’s 14th Annual High-Tech Innovation Awards. The High-Tech Innovation Awards were presented by the Orange County and Inland Empire Council of AeA on the evening of May 10, honoring Southern California’s top innovators in technology and education.

“AeA received a record number of nominations and the level of innovation was truly impressive,” said Tim Jemal, AeA’s executive director for Orange County and the Inland Empire. “AeA congratulates The Return Exchange for its Return Rewards software.”

The Return Exchange’s Return Rewards software system is designed to make the return process more positive for loyal retail customers by providing customized coupons that encourage consumers to continue shopping in the store once a return transaction is complete.

“We are pleased that Return Rewards has been recognized with such a prestigious honor,” said Mark Hammond, chairman and CEO of The Return Exchange. “Prior to Return Rewards, the return counter was an overlooked venue for marketing to customers. Our Return Rewards technology helps retailers create customer loyalty at the return counter while significantly increasing gross sales. ”

The 14th Annual High-Tech Innovation Awards were presented at the Fairmont Hotel in Newport Beach on May 10, 2007, where the AeA set record levels for nominations and attendance. AeA received more than 125 nominations and recognized 18 innovators. The sold-out dinner and awards ceremony drew nearly 600 luminaries from local high-tech companies, financial and government institutions as well as academic leaders, educators, students, investors and media affiliates.

The awards recognized local companies, individuals and products within the technology field that drive innovation in Orange County and the Inland Empire. Additionally, educators and students were recognized for their innovative use of math, science and technology in the classroom and community in conjunction with Project Tomorrow, the nation’s leading education non-profit group focused on preparing today’s students to be tomorrow’s innovators.
